Obituary for George Michael Parrs

George Michael Parrs, 63, passed away February 7, 2019 at his home.

He was born September 21, 1955 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to George and Jean Parrs. George graduated from Dallas High School and Penn State University.

George moved to the Boulder YMCA from Kalamazoo in 1980. He met Shari Lytle at 3rd Ave and Gay St in Longmont on July 4th. They were married on September 22, 1986 at New Creation Church.

George was the owner and operator of George Parrs Landscape since 1985. His designs and work are unique, distinct and premier sculptures to the community he served.

He was a member of Living River Church in Lafayette, CO as well as a member of Bible Study Fellowship. He was also a primary influence in getting BSF weekly studies at the Erie Calvary Bible Church.

George enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a very social person and enjoyed talking to all he met. He was known as the unofficial greeter and now has that role in heaven.

He was preceded in death by his sister Cindy Parrs and father-in-law Donald Lytle as well as many other cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and grandparents who assuredly welcomed him with open arms at the pearly gates.

George is survived by his wife Shari Parrs, two daughters Rachelle Parrs Bellanger and Karah Parrs, son-in-law John Bellanger; parents George J. and Jean M. Parrs, brother Greg Parrs and wife Mary; mother-in-law Ruth Lytle; sister-in-law Lori Lytle and husband Carl Smith; brother-in-law Scott Lytle and wife Cathy; 3 nephews Scott Lytle and wife Kendra, Craig Lytle and wife Jessa and Michael Parrs; niece Tracy Lytle Shilling and husband Brian and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be held at Rocky Mountain Christian Church in Saturday, February 16th, 2019 at 3:00pm. For those honoring George at different times and locations, or wishing to continue the celebration, we ask you take life’s lemons, turn them into lemonade, bake some cookies and tell a bad joke, possibly followed by a good walk in the woods or on the beach.

In lieu of flowers donation can be made to local and international missions. More information can be found here

Though his journey here on earth has concluded his infinite love, joy and zest for life remain. He was a tremendous friend, husband, father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew, neighbor and so much more to so many. Cheers to the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. George Parrs.
