Condolence: Like so many, I can picture Dave’s smiling face (and I will, for the rest of my life) as if I saw it yesterday. Always with a warm greeting and inspiring, contagious enthusiasm. Classmate, fellow soaring instructor, and every Friday night we’d be at His Bible Study at the home of Phil and Marty Meinert.
There are few on this earth who reflect the joy of Christ in the uplifting way that Dave did. Thank you God, for giving us Stisch, and may his example inspire us to look upward.

Condolence: We will miss our hard working, hard playing and hard loving friend. We are sad knowing that his family and many of our other friends miss him. His character and style brought joy and his godly example is still felt many years after we stopped seeing one another regularly, his laughter is as clear to ears as it was 20 years ago. With heavy hearts we will do our best, with God's grace, to honor Dave’s eternal perspective when he was with us, knowing he know sees things as they were meant to be seen and that someday we'll join him for a glorious view.

Riding a supersonic wave
Out on the edge of space
Night covers me

Casting my gaze
Beyond this place
Upon the house of the holy

Earth so small to me now
Insignificant somehow
Heaven's unveiling, darkness fading

Colors wheel around
Angel sounds
Surround me

I see a stellar shroud
Above the thundercloud
And raging sea

Earth so small to me now
Insignificant somehow
Heaven's unveiling, darkness fading

My engine sears the sky
As I pierce the night
Its fire sets me free

Between heaven and the flame
Riding a supersonic wave

Condolence: I believe I took introduction to flight with him at Crockett Highschool in 1975

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of --Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Condolence: Dave was such a great friend. So many memories from our years at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia. From flying F16s, to wind surfing, to roasting marshmallows, to Bible studies, to just hanging out with good friends....all memories include a big smile on Dave's face, a smile in his voice and an ever-present love for Jesus. Thank you Dave for all your encouragement and showing me what being a Christian man is all about.
