Obituary for Joe

Joseph Ivan Wolfinbarger, 47 of Firestone, passed away November 9, 2018 in Longmont, CO.

Joe was born June 23, 1971 in Woodland, CA to Sidney and Penny (Rimoldi) Wolfinbarger. He grew up in Woodland and graduated from Woodland High School in 1991 where he made memories with many that he remained connected to throughout his life.

In 1993, Joe moved to Colorado to begin a new adventure. He was excited to attend school and in 1998 he turned out as a Journeyman electrician from the Denver Joint Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program. He was proud to be a member of IBEW 68, and loved and respected all his brothers.

On June 19, 1993, he married Elana Perior in Berthoud, CO. Although they later divorced, Joe and Elana remained close until the end.

He worked as an electrician at Sturgeon Electric and North.Western Electrical Corporation for many years. He attended LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont, where he found a deep faith in Christ. Joe was a girls’ softball coach for over 23 years; during this time, he fostered a love for the game and impacted the futures of many players. His greatest joy were his daughters, he was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Joseph and Tootie Rimoldi, step-grandfather, Bob Von Almen and great- grandparents, Sam and Gladys Roub.

He is survived by his three daughters; Katy Wolfinbarger of Mead, CO, Sabrina Wolfinbarger of Firestone, CO and Arabella Massey-Wolfinbarger, his mother, Penny Rimoldi of Woodland, CA, two brothers, Bryson (Summer) Baker of Paradise, CA and Troy Baker of Woodland, CA, his longtime friend and ex-wife, Elana Wolfinbarger and her parents, Don and Ruth Martin, his beloved dog, Jessie as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his loving extended family.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 16 at 1 PM at Settlers’ Park in the Oak Meadows Subdivision in Firestone, CO. Although not a traditional setting, we will be celebrating in a place that Joe loved, so please bring a chair to sit on (or you may stand). In celebration of Joe’s love of the Broncos and PS colors, please join us in wearing navy blue and orange. Following the service, there will be an open house at Elana’s home where friends and family can celebrate Joe’s life with laughter and stories, as he would have wanted.
