Obituary for Sharon Lee Larson

Sharon Lee  Larson
Sharon Lee Larson, age 76, passed away August 26, 2018, at home.

She was born May 20, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lawrence C. and Merlin (Shelander) Porter. She graduated from Columbia Heights High School and then attended South Dakota State University.

Sharon married James Larson on April 18, 1964 in Minneapolis where they made their home until moving to Longmont in 1983.

Sharon worked for the Lyons Recorder and then at Bestop, where she wrote instructions for the installation of Jeep and Chevy soft tops. Her final job was the attendance clerk at Niwot High School for several years. During her working life she also owned and operated a typesetting business from her home.

Sharon was active with Jim in the ColoRODans Car Club. She wrote the club’s newsletter and was very instrumental in the creation and publication of the Club’s 50th Anniversary Book as the ColoRODans celebrated 1968 to 2018.

She was a member of the Kiwi Snowmobile Club in Minnesota and the National Street Rod Association. Sharon had served as a deputy with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Reserves.

Sharon enjoyed riding her motorcycle, with many trips to Sturgis and other places.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jayme Monique Larson and sister Susan Streitz.

Sharon is survived by husband Jim, five children Jodi Marsolek (Joe), Jill Larson Morison (Jay), James Rodman (Mardy), Patti Pitoscia (Al) and Richard Armstrong (Renee); nine grandchildren Erika, Logan, Colin, Tianna, Steven, Eric, Michael, Sarah and Sam, numerous great grandchildren, her sister Carole Newham (Ron), and brother-in-law Jim Streitz.

A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, August 29,2018, 10:00am at Faith Community Lutheran Church. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to Mountain States Children’s Home. Share condolences at
