Obituary for Forrest R. Coffman

Forrest R.  Coffman
Beloved husband, father and grandfather Forrest R. Coffman passed away peacefully at his home July 4, 2018 at age 89.

Forrest was born May 30, 1929 in Cowgill, Missouri, the youngest son of Whitzel and Nina Coffman. He served in the Marine Corps for eleven months and then on Aug. 2, 1948 joined the Air Force and was Honorably discharged July 1, 1952.

He married Esther Creason December 29, 1951 and they had a long joyful life together sharing their adventures, caring and supporting one another until the final days. They had one daughter Debbie, with whom he shared a special Dad/Daughter bond, they were always there for each other.

Forrest lived the “life of his dreams” as a pilot for Continental Airlines for 33 years.

He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with them. He also liked working on his farm in Missouri,

He spent many hours at the Longmont Airport having coffee with his friends and checking on his Super Cub, maybe even flying if the weather was perfect.

Forrest was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Arat Shrine in Missouri, the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Denver, the Golden Eagles and a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association for 67 years.

Forrest is survived by his loving wife Esther, daughter Deborah Carpenter, grandson Forrest Carpenter and his wife Brooke, granddaughter Lauren Carpenter and her fiancé Alex. Also survived by brother David in San Francisco, sister-in-law Georgia in Polo, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charles.

Forrest requested no services, but that his ashes be scattered over the Rocky Mountains and at his gravesite in his hometown of Cowgill, Missouri. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and dear friends. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Share condolences at
