Obituary for Donna L. Sadar

Donna L.  Sadar
Donna Sadar, 86, of Hygiene, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2018. She was born on November 24, 1931 in Hygiene, Colorado to William Lester and Celia Agnes (Hutchinson) Bashor. She graduated from Longmont High School in 1949 and later completed cosmetology school.

Donna married Orville Sadar on July 15, 1951 in Lyons, Colorado, he preceded her in death on May 28, 2015. They lived in Denver for several years and Donna was owner/operator of her own beauty salon. They later moved back to the Sadar family dairy farm where they raised their family. Donna loved baseball and coached the Hygiene Little League team for many years. She was active in the community and was a member of the Hygiene Methodist Church and the Hygiene Fire Maids. When Orville retired, they built their dream home west of Hygiene where they loved to gather friends and family together and everyone enjoyed Donna’s fabulous cooking and their fun parties. Donna was the family historian. She had a passion for history and an amazing memory.

Surviving is her son Mark (Debi) Sadar of Longmont and her daughters Lori (Ken) Hood of Philipsburg, MT and Jana (Craig) Godfrey of Berthoud. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Amy Bolte (Tracy) and their sons Zachary, Jackson, and Sawyer; Matthew Sadar (Brittany) and their daughters Chloe, Cora, and Calia; Sam Hood; Russ Hood (Lisa) and their daughters Morgan and Grace and son Caleb; Beth Langell (Geoffrey); Sara and Eric Godfrey. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at New Creation Church, 737 Bross Street, Longmont, CO. Private inurnment at Hygiene Cemetery, cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Contributions can be made to Hygiene Cemetery or Lyon’s Congregational Church and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Share condolences at
