Obituary for Aldo Bonora

Aldo  Bonora
Aldo Louis Bonora, 86, passed away October 3, 2017 at his home in Longmont.

He was born March 29, 1931 in Harrisburg, PA to Carlo and Antoinette (Zanoni) Bonora. Aldo moved at a young age with his family to Walden, NY, where he grew up.

Aldo enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years from 1952 to 1956. While stationed in Japan he attended and earned credits at Sophia University, a Jesuit school, in Tokyo. He was honorably discharged.

On July 21, 1956 he married Ida Zeni in Walden, NY. Ida preceded him in death on May 3, 2006. He married Kay Pace Westrum on January 7, 2012 in Longmont.

Aldo had a 37 year career as a systems analyst with IBM in Walden. He retired in the mid 1990’s. He continued his career as a consultant, which included lecturing, teaching and practical application all over the country.

A devout Catholic, he was a member and Deacon at Church of the Most Precious Blood in Walden and currently a member at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont.

As a young man Aldo enjoyed playing baseball. His teams would play inmates at correctional facilities. Aldo was also an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ida, brothers Lee and Leo and sister Clara.

Aldo is survived by his wife Kay Bonora, son Michael Bonora, brother Rudy Bonora, sisters Mary Bonora and Rina Ricther. Also surviving are Kay’s children and step-children Todd Scott, Andrea Jennings, Larry Westrum, Randy Westrum, Julie Lloyd, Rob Westrum and Ronda Schories and their families.

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. Cremation will follow Mass at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment at Foothills Gardens of Memory. Memorial contributions may be made to Halcyon Hospice and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Visit to share condolences.
