Obituary for Paul Krouse

William Paul Krouse, 71, of Longmont, passed away February 16, 2017 at his home.

He was born February 16, 1946 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, to William Paul and Madeline Violet (Crouse) Krouse. Paul grew up in Aberdeen, Maryland, and Spring Lake, North Carolina. Following his graduation from high school, he attended an Air Frame Mechanic School in Philadelphia. He then enlisted in the United States Army in 1965. He served with the 82nd Airborne and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain on August 30, 1983.

Paul moved to Colorado in 1978, making his home in Broomfield, moving to Westminster in 1987, and finally to Longmont in 1993.

He married Christine M. Osborn in 1987.

Paul’s career in data technology began in 1969 when he went to work for Control Data in Pennsylvania. In Colorado, he worked for Storage Tek as a production control manager and then in logistics for 25 years.

He loved the "Beach Boys" and was the proud owner of a "long board". Paul enjoyed skydiving and flying airplanes. He belonged to a skydiving club in high school and held a private pilot’s license. On July 4, 1998, he had the extreme pleasure of actually flying a B17, the “909” for 30 minutes. He was a World War II buff, enjoyed building plastic models and was especially intrigued by models of WWII “war birds” and ordinance. Paul liked to do woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Paul is survived by his wife Chris of Longmont, sister Bettie Krouse McMullen of Port Orange, Florida, his step-mother Bernice Krouse, and brother Jeff of Railroad, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are nieces Sharon Kilcarr of New York, Edie DeSieno of Georgia, nephews Mike McMullen Leesburgh, VA and David McMullen of Upstate NY.

At his request, no memorial service will be held. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the Longmont Humane Society or your favorite charity. Visit to share condolences.
